Brandon, service line coordinator at Costal’s surgery center,  goes to Guatemala every year with “operation walk Florida” to provide total knee replacements for people who are often in a lot of pain, cannot walk and can’t afford treatment. People travel for many hours to be seen in hopes of being selected for the procedure. The patients are always incredibly thankful for the talent and dedication of the 50 volunteers that travel to be part of this medical mission. 58 patients were treated during this year’s mission. A couple of our vendors donate equipment, instrumentation and implants. Zimmer donates the instruments and implants and Stryker provides the power.

Working at Coastal orthopedics has helped to provide him with the extensive experience in total joints. Working with our talented total joint surgeons has prepared him for the challenging and unique cases due to their lack of resources and traditional medical care.
